Are mice repellents effective?
When mice decide to take over your home, they can do so in a quiet manner where you don’t even know that they are there until one day you notice mouse droppings in a certain location. You then notice teeth marks where something chewed into a container, box, or something else that may have had a food odor to it. There are many different ways to get rid of mice in your home, one of which is mice repellents. If you are thinking about using mice repellents effectiveness, you should know which ones are best to use and what the risks are of using them.
If you go to the store looking for repellents, you are going to find a wide variety of them to choose from. If you purchase mice repellent, you will have a choice between spray, ultrasonic, and scent.
Spray
With a spray, you will have a choice of different sprays to choose from. The repellent, when sprayed on their nest or on the path that they choose to travel, will make them want to turn around and find some other place to stay.
Ultrasonic wave

This type of mice repellent works by admitting sounds and/or lighting to repel the mice. The noise and the light scare the mice off so they don’t feel comfortable enough to stay in yourhome and will search to find another home.
Mice behavior is certainly going to be affected by the sounds coming through the mechanism. The point of these repellents is that the noise is so piercing to their ears that they cannot stand it and will leave. Unfortunately, the products you pick up in the stores are not going to be effective. They cannot make a noise unpleasant enough nor can they create a light bright enough to discourage a mouse for too long.
Scents
Certain scents will keep mice from hanging around because the odor smells foul or it may remind them that humans are close by and they won’t want to stay around.
Conclusion
Many of the mechanic repellents that you find in stores are not going to be as effective. Not only are they expensive, but the mice will soon get used to it and not fear it and they will just bypass it in order to get to their food or shelter.
Making a homemade repellent using spices or strong smelling oils is also not always a good idea because the mixture could be incorrect and you may need to constantly re-apply it to be effective. Mice are going to be difficult to get rid of because they are so determined to become a permanent resident in your home.
If you have a problem with mice, you may want to try one or two of these repellents but don’t rely on them completely to rid your home of mice forever.
