Do Pest Control Companies Remove Rats?
The short answer is yes. Rats do act as pests, and therefore thankfully, pest removal organizations are very commonly used to get rid of these rodents. Most families are never taught how to deal with rats, so it’s very useful that you can have some wildlife experts on hand to help with the problem. The most common response to finding a rat is freezing on the spot, and a lot of people can’t even handle the thoughts of rats.
These are the type of people who can find great comfort in pest control. You may not need pest control in some cases. You can take a lot of steps yourself in the prevention and removal of rats, but if you don’t understand the risks and issues in rat removal, it may be better for you not to attempt to. This is because rats can carry a plethora of diseases, and a lot of these can be bad for overall health, and in rare cases, even fatal.

This isn’t to scare you from rat removal, but in order for you to be aware that you must properly prepare if you attempt to remove animals like rodents yourself. Wildlife control always seems like a great option, as they are very well trained to deal with rodents, but the drawback is that you need to look around for experts that may arrive faster. Doing it yourself is an equally good option here, as rodents are a time-sensitive case, as they can breed fast and spread fast also.
You can request a certain type of trapping from wildlife control or use your own traps to capture rats too. This is because as a default, some pest control companies use poisons as their choice. It can be easier for them but raises some problems for you, the homeowner. This is because poison doesn’t kick in quickly, it instead works slowly, so the rat may go back into hiding and die in an unknown location. Firstly, the poison can be harmful as the rat may spread it. Also though, it’s a very inhumane way to kill the animal, they suffer unduly, and their carcass may never be found. This can cause a smell you can’t locate, which you don’t want in your house.
The most humane way will be snap traps, which kill the animal instantly, or with live traps, which don’t kill the rat at all. These are worth the small amount of hassle, and definitely preferred in pest control. When booking pest control, make sure that you book someone that you can trust, and ask if you can request a preferred capturing method rather than poison.
