As a homeowner, skunks being able to climb can be a frightening prospect. Especially if you’ve dealt with a skunk problem in the past. It may seem to be impossible to deal with a skunk problem if they can just climb over your fence. However, the solution to this is simple. If you make your fence high enough, a skunk will be unable to climb over it. Although they can climb well, they don’t like to climb up tall objects. Thus, with a high fence, the skunk will get discouraged and will abandon your property. It’s also important to make animal cages and/or fences tall enough to prevent skunks from getting into them. A skunk will gladly eat pet food, but a high fence will discourage a skunk from breaking into your pet’s cages.
